Dublin zoo

The 1/12/12 we went to the Dublin Zoo. We had a great time there, and we enjoyed a lot. We learned a lot about animals, and we see strange animals, that aren't usual in our country, like: giraffes, tapirs, penguins, elephants, etc...
We had to complete a wordsheet with questions about animals, that also had a wordsearch.
We ate our packed lunches sitting on benches listening to the latest hits.
We saw a show of sea lions. It was awesome, we saw how sea lions can jump and how they were
fed. We also saw how the zookeeper took care of the penguins.

It was a great day, a little cold but sunny and dry. We had a great time. We are looking forward to the next excursion.

    Telepathy vs body language

    Telepathy vs body language

Many people believe in telepathy, but we just think that people know what the others are thinking because of the body language. But nobody can know certainly if it exists. It's impossible to know what another person is doing, thinking or feeling in that moment if he is in a different place. Maybe in the future we will be able to learn how to speak with other people without speaking.

The body language is the group of gestures that someone does without knowing it. Many people learn to read body language, so other people think that they have telepathy.

In 2013,  Hamilton will run whith Mercedes whereas Sergio Pérez, is going to the place Hamilton left in Mclaren.
This means, Michael Schumacher will left Mercedes. Mercedes will have two very good pilots, Rosberg and Hamilton, but Mclaren has one of the pilots with more future in the formula 1, Sergio Pérez that with Button will conform a great team for Mclaren.

Luca Montezemolo said taht"Alonso is the best pilot that ferrari had it"

    European stereotypes

In the world we find a wide variety of countries, each with different languages, cultures ... and also differ in terms of the stereotypes of people in each country.
How do Spanish citizens see the rest of the world?

    • American people as the British have various common things. They eat fast food, they are so patriotic, they are very sportive and Americans are more talkative than British.
    • Italian people are more like Spanish people, they are very fashionable and they like too much the party, also the two of them are so hard-working.
    • Portuguese and Brazilians are very similar, they are a bit rude and dirty (not all of them) but they have the fame of cooking Bacalhao (PT) and Picanha (BZ) very well.
    •  French people hate Spanish people; and the rest of the world see them very rude and dirty.
    • Germans are so punctual and serious but they are impolite and unfriendly with the rest of nationalities.
    • Irish are friendly and kind.
    THIS IS IT!!!!!!

    KNOCK-OFFS

Knock-offs are imitations of brand products, also called counterfeit products.
In our opinion, on the one hand they are good because people who haven't got enough money to buy brands, and they like that kind of clothes, can buy them.

On the other hand,  they are bad because not only are they illegal, but also people buy knock-offs instead of brands to save money.
Today, knock-offs are practically the same as brands so it's so difficult to tell the difference between the original and the copy.

    Formula 1 safety

    FORMULA 1

Drivers' safety is the most important point in in F1 because the drivers reach high speeds and in an accident they can die or be seriously damaged.

In the picture you can see probably the most shocking accident in the formula, Ayrton Senna, probably the best formula 1 driver in history had a terrible accident and he died

Eric Sidney Watkins, commonly known as Professor Sid served twenty-six years as the FIA Formula One Safety and Medical Delegate, and first responder in case of a crash. He helped to save the lives of many drivers including Mika Häkkinen and Rubens Barrichello
He invented many security accesories like the HANS which protects the neck in case of crash and he forced the FIA to have a helicopter in the circuit.

    Global warming.

In this post, we are going to talk about global warming. First of all, Global warming is is the rise in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere.
The constant increase of the temperatures alters the delicate hydrological cycle which in turn generates a chaining of natural disasters: desertification, drought, thaw of the polar caps and glaciers, floods, hurricanes.
These alterations of the climate have devastating effects on the life in the planet. The crops are ruined. The natural habitats of the animals already cannot give them what they need to live. The animal and vegetable world is present impotent at the destruction of the planet.
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle are the three best options to stop global warming.

    UFO

    UFOS AND ALIENS

UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object. It's not very usual to see one, but  many people say that they have seen one like:

-Olivia Newton-John-Mick Jagger-Elvis Presley-John Lennon and they all believe in aliens after they've seen the UFO.

These are some films were UFOS or alliens  are the protagonists like:
    -E.T.
    -The box
    -The fourth kind
    -The forgotten

    The UFOs

Over the years there have been many stories about the UFOS  told by people who believe they are real, but not everyone agrees. Stories such as "Varginha incident", " The colares flap" and "Goatsucker" called as well "Chupacabra" are very interesting.
This last one is a very outstanding UFO story that happened around April 2000 in Chile, the police found a weird triangular mark on the ground and at least 30 animals killed on a field in the same way, these were put down by the famous UFO the "Chupacabra", it isn't very clear if It's an alien which is surviving in Chile or a new breed of genetically mutated animal.

    Sunday, semptember 9
A man asked his wife for a cold glass of water with cookies.Suddenly he saw a strange object that was moving slowly and it was a very large circle over the area East area. After a few hours he was confused because he didn't believe in those things so he went with his wife and he told her what he had seen.

    The Roswell Incident

Maybe some of us don't believe in aliens but other people have had some terrible experiences. One of those experiences is the following.

In July 1947 a suspected UFO crash-landed in Roswell, New Mexico. Extra-terrestrial debris marked in alien hieroglyphics and even alien corpses were thought to be recovered. An autopsy was believed to be carried out on the corpse of an alien by U.S. doctors. However, since the 1970s huge controversy has surrounded the Roswell incident. The U.S. military took a firm stance that it was not an alien craft that crashed to Earth but an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program named “Mogul” instead. A cover-up to detract the public’s attention of a genuine UFO and alien life in an effort to avoid mass hysteria? Or was it simply the truth that some people do not want to accept?

    Do YOU think it's true?

...Or is it just another product of our imagination?

In movies they sometimes make aliens seem friendly and even funny, but other times they make them look like humans' enemies. Who knows who is right.

Our trip to Altamira was very interesting. We saw the cave and how the cave people lived in the past. It was  amazing. They told us about the pictures in the walls and we did an exercice of the weapons and tools that they used to prepare the food, clothes and drawings.
The next day, we went to Picos de Europa. It was like an adventure. We were divided into three groups with tour guides and they explained us the animals and plants that live in these mountains. Then, we saw the lakes of Covadonga. We had a lot of fun.

    Theatre and dance week

From the 26th of April to the 4th of April, students of our school are performing in the "Centro Cultural de Valladares".
We have seen the performance of Madrid (La Moraleja) students' on Friday 27. It was a very long play, but we enjoyed it. We also went to see Secondary students' performance on Wednesday 2. It was a bit difficult to understand, but sometimes it was funny. Today was Pontevedra's turn, they acted very well, but it was too short .
Tomorrow, it will be the Dance Festival, where students from Secondary school will dance. We will have two  very good presenters (Raquel and Luis). We hope that the audience clap a lot because it will be a very good performance.

    The american civil war. Project

The students of 1º of ESO, are doing  a project about the American civil war. We're doing this project because we are reading a book that was written in the context of the American civil war. It's called Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.
The book is about a family of four sisters and one mother. Their father is fighting at war. That's why we are doing a project about the American civil war.

    Saint Patrick's day

St. Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland, and today he is patron of Ireland, New York and Boston, as welll as a handful of other cities and countries. On his saint's day, New Yorkers, can be found wearing all manner of green garments. Even the white line in the centre of 5th Avenue goes green and most people head for the pub to dronk to the health of the saint.
It is celebrated in Ireland, in some cities of England, Chicago, New York, Boston and some more cities in the United States of America.

    Chicago:

In Chicago they  dye the river of the city and the parade is enormous.

    New York:

The parade is one of the biggest parades if the world. The 5th avenue is closed to traffic. Everybody wears green or get pinched.

Our trip to Santiago de Compostela

Hello! Here we're talking about our trip to Santiago de Compostela like a complement of interdisciplinary project.
There, in Santiago, we visited the TVG (Galicia Television) facilities: we were in the controls, in some sets and we met a very famous galician comedian called Xosé Antonio Touriñán.
We saw and learnt a lot of things about televisions, like the cameras and the importance of the position of the lights.

Then, after the TVG, we went to La Ciudad de la Cultura.
It is placed in Santiago de Compostela it is known as a cultural pole of big importance, dedicated to the knowledge and the contemporary creativity, La Ciudad de la Cultura of Galicia was outlined from his origins as an instrument that, bringing together past and future, is allowed to Galicia to approach in an integral way a strategic area for its developement: the culture.

Then, as we were starving, we went to have luch to Área Central; a famous shopping centre in Santiago.
when we finished our lunch, we went shopping, and finally we went back home.

By the ice-creams!! hope you like it
