Today, 28th of January, we have celebrated "Peace Day" in the school. We did lots of activities like singing and dancing. First, 2 girls and 1 boy, of 4th grade, told us a short story about "Peace Day". Then the dancing group of the secondary girls danced to us a great short dance. After that, we all sang two songs of Michael Jackson called " Man in the mirror" and "We are the world".We all have had a good time all together in this special date with our friends and teachers. ENJOY THIS DATE!

One of our teachers... a long time ago
Look at this lovely face. She's one of our teachers. Guess who?
We have interviewed her. Here you can read some of the questions:
1.Where did you study when you were younger?
During her youth she studied in different places. She spent Primary school which was called E.G.B at Amor de Dios school, which was a really religious school and where the teachers were nuns. “Our Maths teacher had our photos and arranged them so the best one of us was at the top of a pyramid”. She told us.
She continued her secondary school studies which was called B.U.P (Bachillerato Unificado Polivalente). She had a lot of difficulties in Maths and English. “I couldn’t understand Maths and I was so shy that I couldn’t speak English in public”. She told us. However she was good at the rest of the subjects.
Also, María teaches Yolanda traditional dancing and Yolanda helps her sewing, because María is hopeless at that.

Date of birth: 10/1/1664

Job: History and music teacher. She started in "Los Sauces" in 2001-02
2. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?
If she hadn't chosen to be a teacher, she would have studied to be a fashion designer because that was her parents' job. She could't study it because it was only available in Barcelona or London and it wasn't really a university degree. However, she had always wanted to teach children of any age.3. Which was your favourite grade?
Third of B.U.P (First of baccaloureate). When they finished that course, they went for a trip to Mallorca and as the nuns didn't want to go, two mothers went with them. To get money for the trip they organised many activities such as a fashion shows, parties, discos or shops. That was the only school excursion they had.4.What did you do in your free time?
She didn't go out at night till university because it wasn't common at her age. After doing her homework she liked to dance traditional galician dance and if she couldn't she liked to go to her neightbours' houses.5. Are you as inocent as it seems in the photo?
" Yes, I trust people and sometimes I get disappointed ". As a girl, she was posh, tidy, sociable and she liked to participate in class. She spoke a lot and that's why teachers sometimes punished her. She was really a hard working student.6. How did you meet teacher Maria?
She met her here bucause they came to school the same year. Both were new so they became really good friends. Since that, they go dancing together and to the cinema too, so they are friends at school as well as outside school. in spite of being friends, Yolanda admits to be very bad at English; as she says "There's no teacher who can teach me english". Also, María teaches Yolanda traditional dancing and Yolanda helps her sewing, because María is hopeless at that.

ANDORRA
Just before Christmas we spent eight days in Andorra. We went to Grand Valira resort. The first day we were divided into differrent groups, according to our level. Beginners fell a lot of times, but they did it very well at the end.
About the third day the local television channel came and recorded us skiing. We went to the Red Cross point and made a big red cross on the snow with our red coats. At the end of that tiring day we drank hot chocolate.
The day before the last one a girl called Paula had a dream and it came true. She dreamt that she fell down while skiing and she did!!!
We were in a beautiful snowy town. It was all covered with snow, just lovely. It was freezing but we could drink hot drinks to keep warm.

CHRITSMAS FESTIVAL
Christmas Festival
Last Christmas festival was the most beautiful we've ever had, all the girls and boys sang and danced; from nursery school to 1st of ESO
We all danced and sang Christmas Carols and we had a great time. The 3rd graders sang an original song all dressed up like hippies. They looked so cool!
The 6th graders roleplayed a funny Christmas Scene and the boys and girls of 1st of ESO danced a rock´n roll with the Christmas carol "Run, run, Rudolph"
It was a great day. We enjoyed ourselves, we ate popcorn and sweets.

Advice for shoppers!
Sales, sales, sales… we see them everywhere. But very few people know how to be a shopping expert. I´ll give you some tips that I think are very useful:
1. Do not go the first day. You don´t want to get too stressed out. The perfect time is the second day early in the morning or just after lunch, the time when the spanish people have their “siesta”.
2. Get someone to accompany you ( a boy or a patient mother preferently), so that person can wait in the line while you buy (it´s not cruel, you can respond with a favor another time).
3. Some days before the sales you can hide things so that when you get there you can get them (it might not work!)
4. Eat a lot before shopping, you need strength when dealing with crazy ladies.
5. Have a break with a coffee or drink.
