MADRID / BARÇA
Henry our teacher made a football tournament, only some people played. There were about 12 teams but only one team won, TIK TOK. After the tournament, we organised the participants in two teams, R. Madrid and FC Barcelona. The matches were postponed many times because of the weather. We could play the match the last day. Each team had a captain. Sergio for Madrid and Henry for Barça. Fernando, the tutor was the referee. At the end of the first half they drew 1-1. Later there were more goals. The referee expelled one of the players, Anton Cabado. he showed him two yellow cards. The final result was 5-3 for Barça. These are the people who scored. For Barça: Henry O'Keffee 1 goal and Anton Cabado 4 goals. For R. Madrid Gonzalo Iribarren from Pontevedra 1 goal, Ernesto Troncoso 1 goal and Javi Borreguero 1 goal.
The people that were cheering were very nervous. They were supporting their teams. At the beginninng they were separated, quite far from each other but in the second half we were all together shouting and cheering.
One of the tutors, Judith was taking a lot of amazing pictures, have a look at them in our album on the right hand side of this blog.

NEWS FROM IRELAND
Our last excursion.
In the morning we went to Dun-Drum shopping centre. We think the shopping centre was fantastic, but the time was short. It was a very big shopping centre, with a lot of shops. We really enjoyed our shopping there.
In the afternoon we went to the GAA stadium. When the teachers told us that we had to go there we thought it would be very boring, but it was really interesting.
At the beggining we watched a video about the sports. In the GAA they play some sports but aslo there, they make concerts for example they told us that the group of music U2 came last year. One of the sports that they play in the GAA is hurling. Hurling is one of the fastest sports in the world. You play hurling with a ball that is a small ball and with a stick. The GAA stadium is the biggest stadium in the world, it has different parts. One of the parts is for important people. There is one part that you can´t sit down, in that part you can only be standing. There is also a part for the journalists. To get in the GAA stadium for a match you don´t have to buy the tickets you have to be invited but only in one part of the stands. In the GAA, they showed us the playing field, the changing room, the place that they celebrate the matches if they win.
At the end there were a lot of games and we played there was one that you had to jump, another that you had to score a hurling ball with a stick in a basket another one that you had to keep your balance and a lot of games like these ones.
It was a very interesting excursion.

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is 25 of November.
It has been an annual tradition in the United States since 1863. Thanksgiving was historically a religious observation to give thanks to God. It is thought that the first Thanksgiving was celebrated to give thanks to God for helping the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony survive their first brutal winter in New England.
If you are thinking of celebrating thanksgiving, this is a typical menu:

Our trip to Ireland.
In two weeks we are going to go to Ireland. We are very nervous because we have to do lots of things.
Studying for the evaluation exams, packing our suitcases and buying lots of things. It's going to be a busy week!
But we know that when we arrive in Ireland, it will be a great month.
In our opinion the only bad thing is the food, it is a bit bad.
The weather is so bad, it is so cold and rainy so we have to wear very warm clothes.
We still don´t know which family we are going to stay with, so we are looking forward to good news.
We hope to learn a lot and have a lot of fun!

For the marinade:
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Before starting to play basketball you should warm up (running at a trot, shooting baskets ...) and stretch the whole body

You have to practice and throw a lot. It’s the only way to score
9. Do you practice any other sport?

Celebrations
Halloween
Halloween is coming up. It's the perfect time to prepare a party. You can invite your friends and wear scary costumes. Try to make your costume original, terrorific but that it also looks good on you.
This is an example of what you shouldn’t do: And what you should do:
In our school, we made a jack o´lantern contest. There were lots of original ideas, such as a a pumpkin from the world championship, a hamburguer… You could also see lots of effort from the students (and in some cases, from their parents).
We want to congratulate everyone and especially the winners, who are:
1º place: Andrea Fernández 2ºplace :Chisco y Pedro Pino
3ºplace: Adrián Miguez
We recommend that you see this film. When you read the plot you will think that it´s a comedy but it will surprise you.
EDWARD SCISSORHANDS |
Enjoy and,
Happy Halloween! Marta and Paula

Health & Beauty
How to get a perfect skin
After summer, our skin is dry of so much sun. Your skin care is very important for your health. To much sun can make you get cancer.
Here i´ll give you 5 useful and effective tips for your skin care.
Drink a lot of water: Water is essential for the hydration of the skin to keep it moist, soft, supple and clear. Loss of moisture from the skin is one main cause of wrinkles. You should drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Rest: We don’t get enough rest or sleep and are often tired. The average amount of sleep we need is 8 hours. Not only does lack of sleep make your eyes puffy but will make your skin look dry and dull.
Do exercise : People who are physically fit look good and feel good. Exercise brings more oxygen and nutrients to the skin so that it is firmer and better nourished.
Don’t stress out: Your face can break out with spots, inflammation and make it sensitive and dull looking. So try to relax more!
